“The decision to revoke their appointments was not an easy one to take, but it was the only choice that is consistent with District legislation, respect for the independence of the judiciary, equality of all people before the law, and the Supervisor’s policy applied in similar cases in the past,” said Gerhard Sontheim.
“I wish to thank Mr. Kisic and Mr. Dedeic for their service in office. They took over their responsibilities at a difficult time and administered them in a way that carried the District forward. The revocation of the appointments does not prejudice the results of the court proceedings. In fact, in the absence of a conviction, the assumption of innocence applies and I want to call on everybody to respect the dignity of the accused and their families,” Sontheim added.
