The agreements end a long lasting dispute over the locations for the monuments, and constitute finally equal standing of the associations of all three wartime armies, in accordance with the Final Award, the Statute and the District Law on Monuments and Symbols. The Supervisor commends the associations and the political parties for their efforts to resolve the issue in an atmosphere of tolerance, dialogue and respect, and promised his help in facilitating and accelerating the swift implementation of the agreements.
"The District has again demonstrated that it deserves the forthcoming proclamation as a Town of Dialogue and Culture of Peace", the Supervisor said, and calls upon the authorities to also find a way to commemorate the civilian victims of war in a dignified manner.
