High Representative Appoints Zepce Interim Board

The High Representative today appointed the members of the Interim Board which will replace the Municipal Assembly and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Zepce municipality as required under his decision of October 6th. The decision will finally remove the parallel structures from the Zepce municipality and ensure that Zepce enters the legal structures of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Federation of BiH.

Muharem Hasagic, Ivica Ramljak, Mato Zovko, Frano Sinanovic, Fadil Jahic, Rajko Sasic and Faruk Hrustic, will make up the seven strong Interim Board that will govern the municipality until the next municipal elections are held. The board will meet for its first session on Monday, October 16th.

The High Representative sees this as an important first step in finally declaring the concept of ethnically controlled territory in the Federation dead, and welcomes the support of local, progressive, civic minded political parties on an issue that senior political figures in the Federation have been unable to resolve for the last three years to the benefit of the people of the Zepce municipality.
