Religious Communities Can Lead by Example

Principal Deputy High Representative Roderick Moore met Metropolitan Nikolaj in Sarajevo today. This was the latest in a series of meetings Ambassador Moore has held with religious leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Moore and Metropolitan Nikolaj discussed developments in BiH society including issues of particular relevance to the Serb Orthodox Church.

Ambassador Moore stressed that religious communities can play an important role in helping to rebuild Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said the wartime legacy of bereavement and mistrust can only be assuaged through a commitment to truth and genuine human solidarity, and that religious communities can set an example in this.
