SRT Broadcast of Judge Louise Arbour's Press Conference, 28 September 1997

The High Representative, Carlos Westendorp, wholly endorses the view of both UNMBiH and ICTY that "at a minimum, SRT should apologise to its viewers and ICTY, and rebroadcast (Judge Louise Arbour's) press conference in full with an introduction by ICTY."

This action must be taken forthwith by SRT.

The OHR considers the broadcast of this interview on 28 September, accompanied by outrageous commentary, as a clear breach of the agreements reached between it and SRT. It will not accept the grotesque distortion of interviews in this way. SRT viewers and RS residents are entitled to hear the views of Judge Louise Arbour and others without distortion.

SRT must take the corrective action specified above immediately. In the meantime, the OHR will consider whether further action is required.
