Persons holding executive positions that have a crucial bearing on the trust of citizens at home, and the reputation of BiH abroad, are expected to stand down if indicted for criminal offences. Only by doing so can they preserve that trust as they prepare to defend themselves through the courts, in the event that the indictment is confirmed.
In the light of the above, should the indictment be confirmed, Dr Covic will no doubt wish to consider how to proceed in the best interests of his country and those he represents.
