Supervisor Gregorian Concludes Harmonizing District Legislation With The Statute

Brcko Supervisor Raffi Gregorian issued an addendum to the Supervisory Order of June 26, 2007 enacting amendments to 31 laws of Brcko District. This enactment is the final phase in a legislative process that began when the Statute of Brcko District was amended by Supervisory Order of 2 February 2007.

The amendments to the Statute necessitated that Brcko District legislation was adjusted and brought into conformity with the Statute. This was accomplished with the Supervisory Order of June 26, 2007 that enacted 8 new laws and 72 laws on amendments to Brcko District  laws. This Supervisory Order also mandated the Mayor to appoint a commission including members from the Assembly, the Government and the Judiciary to review these laws and amendments to laws and to propose changes it considered necessary.

The Commission proposed amendments to 31 laws that are now enacted with the addendum to the June 26, 2007 Supervisory Order. Most of these amendments are technical in nature and do not cause substantial changes to District legislation.

The Supervisor commends the efforts and professionalism of the Commission for accomplishing its mandate.
